The young Swedish soprano Sabina Bisholt started the season 2017/2018 by making her debut as Marguerite in Gounod´s Faust at Norrlandsoperan in Sweden. She will make her debut as Mimì in La Bohème at The Royal Opera in Stockholm season 2018/2019.
As one of the first price winners in the competition Opernspiele Munot in Schweiz sabina will make her debut as Mimì in Puccinis La Bohème in august 2018.
In June 2017 Sabina and pianist Bengt Forsberg presented works by Amanda Maier-Röntgen in recital at Allhelgona kyrkan in Stockholm. The four songs were shortly after recorded in Västerås Concert house together with DB Productions and Eric Nilsson.
Sabina graduated from University College of Opera in Stockholm 2016. For her graduation performance, Sabina sang the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni in a production with Malmö Opera which played at Malmö Opera’s Operaverkstan and on tour. She performed under the directorship of Mira Bartov and musical direction of Bo Wannefors. Sabina completed her internship with Norrland’s Opera as Lapák the dog and the Grasshopper in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen directed by Wilhelm Carlsson and under the baton of Dalia Stasevska.
Sabina is a frequent soprano soloist in concerts and her repertiore include Brahm´s Ein Deutsches Requiem, Pergolesi´s Stabat Mater, Lars- Erik Larsson’s God in Disguise (Förklädd gud), Joakim Andersson’s newly written St John Passion and his Södergran sviten which he composed and dedicated to Sabina. She has also worked with the pianist Bengt-Åke Lundin at the Stockholm Concert Hall.
Sabina was awarded the Christina Nilsson Scholarship of 2016 and the Hans Dahlborg musikscholarship. She also received scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2015, 2016 and 2017, The Foundation of July 25, 1988, Mannheimer Swartling, Värmland Society’s Lussestipendium 2015 and The Nordic First Loge of Saint Johannis Foundatation Jubileum’s Fund 2015.
She developed a passion for music early in life singing in a children’s choir and studying the cello. In 2007 Sabina completed her final year of secondary studies at Lilla Akademien Music Secondary School in Stockholm. She continued at Stockholm Operastudio 67 from 2010-2012. While there, she performed the roles of Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Elisetta in Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto. During her three years at the Bachelor of fine Art program at University College of Opera in Stockholm (Operahögskolan) She sung the roles of Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Mimí from Puccini’s La Bohème.
